This introductory session explores how chief business officers (CBOs) serve boards and board committees (finance, audit, investment, facilities, etc.,) to ensure boards operate effectively. In this session, explore ways to engage with boards, understand and define board roles and responsibilities, and consider the CBO role in helping board members understand revenue streams, expenses, deferred maintenance, and other financial responsibilities. Panelist will offer strategies for deeper engagement and effective methods that strike the balance between board oversight and board responsibility and recognize the distinction between governance and management.
